Stranger in the Garden: A New Work by Buck McDaniel

  • The Actors Chapel 239 West 49th Street New York, NY, 10019 United States (map)

Join us for the Halloween event of the season!

Buck McDaniel has composed a long form cycle for solo organ and narrator based on Edith Wharton’s short story, Afterward.

Narrated by Caitlin Caruso Dobbs, it tells of a young American couple, the Boynes, purchasing an English manor home in southern England. They ask their friend if the rumors are true — is it haunted? She jokingly replies it is, but they won’t know “‘till long afterwards.” Mrs. Boyne notices a markéd change in Mr. Boyne as he works toward finishing his novel in the home’s prominent library, and, following her encounter with a stranger in the garden, he, well — you’ll have to attend the show to find out.

Brave Times Square for a chilling fall experience!
